Ok sorry...

I have to apologize to all of you. I set up this blog and then just left it alone for so long. I had a few issues: A cancer scare, a bunch of tests, a child starting Kindergarten, my husband had an advancement exam he was studying for making more time for the kids and I to be together, I just signed up to go back to school (starting at the end of this month), and both of my kids have been in and out of illness.

I know they are all random things but once the cancer scare came along I just didn't want to get online much and then the rest just sort of followed and it was only just lastnight that I even remembered I had a blogger account.

I am really VERY sorry and will hopefully be able to get into the whole set up again. I will continue on with the topic of Embossing until it is finished then move onto the next.

Thank you for your understanding.

So Sorry all

I completely spaced on Sunday and did not write on another way to emboss. So here it goes.

This week is Dry Embossing....

To do this you will need:

Paper
A light source w/flat surface(a window works well as does a light table)
A Stencil
A stylus (tool to rub paper w/inside stencil)
Tape

Let's begin:

  1. Tape your stencil to your light source being careflu not to tape over the image itself.(If using a light table go ahead and turn it on)
  2. Place you paper over the stencil
  3. Use you stylus to rub the paper into the image making sure you get all along the inner edge and fully inside.
  4. Place on your project and embelich as you see fit. (Below I have place a few extra things you can do with this image)

Extras:

Using a sponge dauber go over the image(or just around/inside where ever you want really) with chalk or ink

Using a two way glue pen trace over the image and add glitter

Trace image w/marker or colored pencils

Now go make your project and see how easy it is.

Next week I plan to talk about Wet Embossing!!!!

Embossing

"How do we emboss?," "What does embossing do?," "That sounds hard, really how hard is it?," These are questions I get asked frequently when I mention embossing to people. The answers can be found here and in doing an embossing project.

Here are the steps for Heat embossing. (Please note you can do this with thick clear ink and use either clear or colored embossing powder or you can use a thick pigment style ink with a clear powder.)

Things You Need:

Image Stamp
Embossing Ink(Versa Mark, Thick Pigment Ink like Stampin Up! Craft Ink)
Embossing Powder
Heat Tool
Powder Pals trays or scrap paper

Optional(yet preferred)
Embossing Buddy

1) Prepare your surface by rubbing Embossing Buddy Lightly over entire surface(this will help to keep little bits of embossing powder from sticking with static on your project)

2) Press your stamp firmly into your ink being sure the entire image you want embossed is covered with the ink

3) Press stamp straight onto project

4) Pour embossing powder over entire image

5) Shake off extra powder into powder pals tray (Or onto scrap paper)

6) Gently Tap back of project to get loose powder from it.

7) Heat with heat tool. (You will start to see what I call the melting of the powder this is normal just keep moving the heat tool to spots that haven't "melted" yet unti lthe whole thing is done)

8) While it is cooling(takes all of about 2-5 seconds) you can put the embossing powder back in the container but pulling the plug on the powder pals and tip over your container soit flows back in. Or if using paper bend it to make a path for the powder to flow into the container smoothly.

9)Embelish and finish your project you are done!!!!

I will try to attach photos tomorrow.

As you can see a few easy steps and you have an embossed image. Nothin' To It!!!!

Welcome to the 1st of July!!!! This Month I thought we would look at a faily simple technique as a starter. I though we could go with Embossing. There are many ways to emboss.
There is the standard of using Embossing powder, then the dry embossing, the wet embossing, and doing other technies that incorporate embossing.

Starting on Sunday we will have full instructions as well as step by step pictures. Hope you are looking forward to it as much as I am!!!!

Welcome to Stampin' With Ffour

I have started this blog as a way to keep up with my customers and fellow Stamp Enthusiasts. For those of you who have managed to come across my blog by accident or by word of mouth, let me say a big Welcome to you and thank you for your interest.

A little bit about me, if you know it or are uninterested skip to the next paragraph. :) I am a stay at home mother of 2. I have a 5 yr old Girl and an 18 month Boy. I am a Military spouse to a Navy guy!!! (Go Navy Beat Army!!!!) I am also a Stampin Up! Demonstrator. I love to read, spend time with my friends and family, and be as creative as possible. I look for ways to be creative in everything Ido. I have yet to find a way that actually gets me liking the dish duty daily but I am still working on it. :) I over use exclamation point and am really bad at all forms of writing.

As a plan for this blog I figured I would do weekly updates, and Spotlight 1 technique a month (as many of the techniques have more than 1 way to do them). I will try to postpictures of the step by step as often as possible. I am also willing to answer questions for you.

Please feel free to contact me with any suggestions, or questions you might have. I will get back to you as soon as I can.

The first official post for a technique will be on the 5th of July and weekly updates will be on Sundays following. The Month will start the 1st Sunday of the Month.

Thanks again for visiting. Hope you enjoy the blog.
